July 19, 2005

On July 18, 2005, officers of the Benson Police Department initiated a street level "round up," in response to numerous complaints of illegal drug and alcohol activity in and around the areas of South Farmer Drive, West Woodall Street, West Harnett Street, and West Parrish Drive in Benson.

A total of twelve (12) suspects were arrested, within a three-hour period. Their names, charges, and bond amounts are below.

 

Pernell Robert Green - Consuming Alcohol on Off Premise Permit, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia - $600 Secured Bond

George Franklin Odom - Consuming Alcohol on Off Premise Permit, Possession of Schedule VI Controlled Substance- $600 Secured Bond

Willie Oliver - Consume Alcohol on Off Premise Permit - $300 Secured Bond

Jacquline Howard - Consume Alcohol on Off Premise Permit - $300 Secured Bond

Timothy Wayne Jackson - Consume Alcohol on Off Premise Permit - $300 Secured Bond

Charles Allen Baker - Consume Alcohol on Off Premise Permit - $300 Secured Bond

Dewarren Johnson - Consume Alcohol on Off Premise Permit - $300 Secured Bond

Bernice Byrd - Possession of Drug Paraphernalia - Cited and Released

Brnjamin Franklin Johnson - Assault on LEO, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Cocaine, Maintaining a Vehicle for Controlled Subtance Distribution, Consume Alcohol on Off Premise Permit, Resist-Delay-Obstruct - $13,000 Secured Bond

Carrie Patricia Hamilton - Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia - $1000 Secured Bond

Benjamin John Hollin - Possession of Marijuana - $500 Secured Bond

Sean Preston Wheeler - Possession of Methamphetamine - $10,000 Secured Bond

 

In addition, two subjects were charged in an unrelated incident with Setting Fire to Woodlands. Lucio Madino and Luis Arevalo were arrested for setting fire to the wooded area on the West side of NC Highway 242 South, across from Benson BBQ. They were each placed in the Johnston County Jail under $500 Secured Bond.
